Faith is the foundation of the Christian Walk. Hebrews 11:1 defines it beautifully: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” It’s a deep, unwavering trust in the promises of God—even when life gives us every reason to doubt.
Living by faith doesn’t mean life is easy or predictable. In fact, some of the greatest people of faith in Scripture—Abraham, Moses, David—walked through long seasons of waiting, uncertainty, and trials. Yet, what set them apart was their decision to trust God even when they couldn’t see the full picture.
We’re called to do the same. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” That’s not just a poetic verse—it’s a command and a challenge. It means trusting God’s timing when we want quick answers. Believing in His goodness when circumstances feel unfair. It means praying even when we feel unheard, and continuing to serve even when we’re weary.
Faith isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about believing that God is still working—even in the silence, even in the storm. Jesus Himself told us that with faith even as small as a mustard seed, we can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). That kind of faith doesn’t come from feelings—it comes from knowing who God is.
So how do we build that kind of faith?
- Stay in the Word – Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the more we learn God’s character and promises.
- Pray persistently – Prayer keeps our hearts connected to the Father and reminds us that we’re not carrying life alone.
- Remember His faithfulness – Look back at what God has already done. If He was faithful before, He will be faithful again.
Let this be an encouragement: your faith is not wasted. God sees every act of trust, every silent prayer, every tear. And He honors those who walk by faith, even when the road is unclear.
Recently, God led me to take a huge step of faith. I left a corporate job—one that offered financial security—to become a first grade teacher. It didn’t make sense on paper. The pay was less, and the path ahead felt uncertain. But God spoke clearly, and I obeyed.
And let me tell you: God is faithful. Where he guides, he will most definitely provide! That’s who our God is! Jehovah Jireh- The Lord who PROVIDES!
He has provided for me every single step of the way. There were moments I didn’t know how things would work out, but He always made a way. Whether it was finances, strength, or encouragement—He never left me lacking.
That’s who He is.
Faith doesn’t mean the journey is easy. It means we trust the One who leads us. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” That verse has become a lifeline for me. When things are unclear, I remember: if God brought me to it, He’ll bring me through it.
Maybe you’re in a season where you feel unsure—where God’s leading you into something new or uncomfortable. I want to encourage you: God is faithful. He has never left me, and He will never leave you either.
Keep trusting Him. Keep walking by faith. He sees your obedience, your sacrifice, and your heart. And He honors it. The God who called you is faithful—and He will finish what He started (Philippians 1:6).
